In an earlier paragraph you learned how a game of Limit Texas Holdem is played. One thing is to play poker but another thing is to be able to play poker skillfully, which means to use a poker strategy.
We will take a table for 10 players for our advice as a starting point. The seating of a player at a table for 10 people means a lot because it makes a big difference who is playing in first (the worst) position or in last (the best) position. We are going to introduce a poker strategy and a scheme that can be of big help to the new fledgling player but first of all, we will take a look at the different positions at a table.
When looking at a table for 10 people, the early position refers to the seats that are three, four or respectively five seats to the left of the dealer. The positions that are six, seven or eight places to the left of the dealer are called middle position. The late position refers to the two positions that are nine or ten seats to the left of the dealer (the dealer button is located in front of the 10th person).
The two blinds seats should be played as early position when someone raised but they can also be played as late when no one raised. The big blind should always be played of course when no player has raised!
