2. How to play Texas Holdem

There are different poker games available. Maybe you already know a little bit about poker and it is therefore easier for you to learn how to play Texas Holdem.
Texas Holdem is the most famous poker game. Most players can be found in the virtual poker rooms. Between 2 and 10 players are allowed to participate in a game.
Since Texas Holdem is the most widely spread game, there are also a lot of bad players. Therefore, we will concentrate on this game. You have to pay attention to the fact that there are three versions of Texas Holdem rules: Limit, No Limit and Pot Limit.

Poker Chips
Texas Holdem is played with 3 variations.
We recommend that you start with the
easiest one: Limit Texas Holdem.
With Limit Texas Holdem, the amount that you can bet is set from the beginning. For example, you can bet $2 at a maximum when playing the first two rounds (of 4 total) at a $2/4 table. In the last 3 rounds, this amount is raised to $4. Most beginners prefer this poker variation.

There are no limits for the bet amount at any given point of time with No Limit Texas Holdem.
However, you only bet the amount that you have at the table. For example, a player is seated at a $2/4 table with $100. This player may bet a maximum of $100. This poker variation is better for high rollers.

Pot Limit Texas Holdem is a little more complicated. Here, the maximum amount that you can bet is the amount that is in the pot at that time. For example, the maximum amount that the first player at a $2/4 table can bet is $3, which is the sum of the small and the big blind (will be explained later). If the first player bets $3, the next player can bet $6 because this is the new sum in the pot. When this player makes a bet of $6, then the next player can bet $12, etc.

As a starting point, in how to play Texas Holdem we will take Limit Texas Holdem because new players feel safest when the bet amounts are stable and you can actually choose for yourself (when choosing a table).
