Pacific Poker

By Jesper, BettingExpert

Pacific Poker with 888 The favourite waters for fish are offered by Pacific Poker, where only few sharks swim around to eat them.

With this small metaphor I try to describe what awaits players, when they sign up at Pacific Poker. Pacific Poker is famous for the loose games found at the tables, which probably has to do with the fact that they are owned by the world’s largest online casino: 888. Casino players from 888 tend to try the poker games once in a while and their poker skills don’t impress to put it mildly!

Pacific Poker offers a 25% sign up bonus up to $100
I don’t play at Pacific for the sake of their bonuses. In my opinion they are a bit stingy with the bonuses, and they don’t offer many bonuses for existing players. They do offer many tournaments with added money and this makes these tournaments pretty attractive. Again as with the cash games there are many weak players and you’ll find high value here. A table at Pacific Poker The best bonus definitely has to be the weak poker players you see at Pacific Poker.

Fast game play, but not the best graphics
I like when a game is fast and you don’t have to wait long for the next one. This is what is offered by Pacific Poker, but it affects the graphics which are pretty simple compared to other poker rooms. I think the graphics look boring, but I can live with it as long as I manage to win some money! Also you have to consider the fact that Pacific Poker don’t compete on the graphics, but more on an effective game play. They show both average pot and flop percentage in the lobby, which makes it easier to spot the good table.

Pacific Pokers weak spot: Rake
As I said so far there are some ups and downs for Pacific Poker, but the main complaint from me is their rake structure, which is tough on the players. Normal rake has a maximum of $3 per hand, but Pacific Poker takes up to $4 in a single hand. In addition to this they cap the rake for 4-5 player games at $2.50 instead of the normal $2. This rake structure is definitely a minus for Pacific Poker, but on the other hand they can do it as the good poker players will be able to make a lot of money at these tables

Conclusion
Pacific Poker has one main advantage in the quality of an average player at their tables. Many fish swim around and there are enough for all sharks. The negative areas are bad sign up bonuses and tough rake structure. New players must weigh these pros and cons to figure, whether to play. I personally gave them a thumps up and certainly don’t regret.
